King's offers many exciting touring opportunities for our Senior School Students. Boys rugby have enjoyed bi-annual tours to Ireland and Italy. The Junior teams have also had opportunities to travel abroad with the Hockey squads touring to Holland and the Rounders team to Jersey.
Hockey is flourishing at King's. Both the boys' and girls' programmes are designed to be varied, purposeful and enjoyable, providing each and every player with a sense of achievement and a positive attitude towards living a healthy lifestyle.
Music is central to the life of King’s, from singing in the weekly School Service to the Military Band’s contribution to Remembrance Sunday and Bruton’s community as a whole. Academic results are excellent both at GCSE and A-Level. Pupils are taught music in a lively and engaging style by passionate and knowledgeable teachers.
The captain of the Swedish hockey team is celebrating a treble success for the Under 16 hockey teams he coaches at King’s Bruton. King’s recruited Henry Eriksson to continue the success the school had enjoyed under the previous coach Ben Dudley, the England Under 16 goalkeeping coach.
A Campus Activity day is followed by a 6 week course of in-school study skills sessions, delivered by King’s students. The year then concludes with our King’s Scholars Family Day, which welcomes King’s Scholars and their families to our Strand Campus for a day of pupil subject workshops and parental training sessions.

After beating King’s Bruton, Clayesmore and Taunton School, the boys made it through to the quarter-finals and were scheduled to play Kingswood again, the winner securing their place at the national finals. Sadly again it looks like England Hockey have now cancelled the remainder of this competition.
